Expansion of Roskilde Technical School
Ehe major construction project at Roskilde Technical School, Pulsen 8 in Roskilde, is in full swing. The construction includes a new 3-storey extension to the school. With a modern expression, a visual balance is created between the extension and the existing building, which was built in 2014. The building includes classrooms with workstations, offices, storage, machine workshops and more. In connection with the extension, automatic lighting control is required, among other things.
Flexible lighting solution
At Teamtronic, we are in the process of delivering various luminaires for the new extension. The luminaires are all equipped with an EasyAir sensor.
The advantage of the Easyair sensor is that it works wirelessly and combines pier and daylight control. In addition, the connection is simple and takes place via 3-wire cable.
The EasyAir sensor is particularly ideal for a building like Roskilde Technical School's new extension. This is partly due to the large open classrooms with workstations. Due to the EasyAir sensors, the rooms will only be illuminated where needed.
The individual sensors can be grouped and divided into different zones, which makes it possible to customise the lighting according to your needs. For example, if you want several different types of task lighting in the same room, this is possible.
Lighting affects wellbeing and productivity
Several studies show that the visual indoor environment can affect students' learning conditions and ability to concentrate. The colour composition of LED light is the light that most closely resembles daylight and is therefore preferable.
For Roskilde Technical School, good lighting is therefore important as their students spend many hours a week in various classrooms
In addition, lighting can have a significant impact on the indoor climate, depending on whether LED or old fluorescent tubes are used. This also applies to classrooms, workshops and more. A good indoor climate is essential when it comes to student well-being and productivity at school.
The advantage of LED is that it does not emit heat compared to an incandescent or halogen bulb, where 90 % of the electricity ends up as heat and therefore affects the indoor climate in a room.
