Renovation of Kolding city centre

A major renovation project of Jernbanegade in Kolding between Buen and Banegårdspladsen is complete. The renovation of Jernbanegade has been carried out in accordance with Kolding Municipality's new design guide for the city centre.

The newly renovated stretch of road will set an example for how the rest of Kolding city centre should look in the future. The renovation has included new pavement, new plant beds and benches with line lighting and new steel poles with spotlights.

Integrated line lighting

To achieve a more modern look on the newly renovated stretch of road, line lighting has been integrated into the individual benches. Here, line lighting with 4000K RA90 was supplied as aluminium profiles, all placed under each bench.

The integrated aluminium profiles make it possible to illuminate the walkways in the evening and at night. This creates a unique atmosphere of life in the street despite darkness and possible emptiness. The line lighting also creates a sense of security and safety for citizens when travelling along the road in the dark.

Much more than just road lighting

There was a desire to be able to use the street lighting for more than just illuminating Railway Days. For festive occasions, such as the Kolding Light Festival, it should be possible to change colours in high quality to create the right effect in the pedestrian area.

To meet Kolding's requirements for colour changing road lighting, Teamtronic supplied our T-FDA spotlights with 3000K RA90 for ordinary road lighting and our T-FDA spotlights with RGBW DMX, with colour-controlled lighting. In this connection, our T-FDA spotlights with RGBW DMX are placed in the same luminaire housing as the road luminaire for a more visually elegant look.

In addition, all spots are equipped with LUTRON DMX control to be able to program the desired colours and colour changes to create the desired lighting atmosphere. The DMX system can be remotely programmed and synchronised with other colour-controlled lighting systems in Kolding Municipality.
