Nyt Sund - University of Southern Denmark

Nyt Sund is an extension of the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) in Odense, which houses the university's Faculty of Health Sciences. Nyt Sund comprises 50,000m2 on three floors with classrooms, laboratories, offices, auditoriums, animal stables, and facilities for anatomy and forensic medicine, supporting both students and researchers' health-related education and work. The expansion creates a direct connection between the University of Southern Denmark and the new super hospital OUH when it is completed.

For the project, Teamtronic has supplied the basic lighting with a special focus on function, working environment and aesthetics. For the foyer, atrium and conference rooms, Z-line On 75-93 luminaires were carefully selected to create a harmonious and inviting atmosphere.

In the covered outdoor walkways, we have customised In-line 75-93 line profiles with IP44 certification, ensuring durability and protection against weather conditions. This solution combines robustness with a sleek aesthetic to create efficient and safe illumination of the covered outdoor areas.

Classrooms and offices are illuminated with customised line profiles, including In-line 53-80 DAMPA Clip-In Custom Cassettes and In-line 100-80 DAMPA Corridor Hook-On Cassettes. The lighting solution is customised to integrate perfectly with the ceiling systems, contributing to a streamlined and discreet look.

In laboratories where hygiene and environmental control are crucial, we have implemented T-LED Hygiene IP44 luminaires mounted in DAMPA Clip-In Cassettes that fulfil hygiene requirements while providing optimal lighting.

Auditoriums are equipped with suspended T-Rover Ø400 luminaires for even and comfortable lighting, while corridors and common areas are equipped with recessed T-Modular Ø200 and T-Hee Ø400 luminaires to create a balanced and welcoming atmosphere.

Teamtronic has also supplied the lighting solutions in Nyt Sund with Dali lighting control, which ensures optimal energy-efficient operation.

Nyt Sund has also been nominated for School Building of the Year 2024, awarded for the 12th consecutive year by Nohrcon, specialists in tendering and construction.
