Teamtronic acquires Open Light Denmark
Danish lighting supplier and manufacturer Teamtronic is growing with the acquisition of Open Light Danmark, which will be part of the new ownership group. The acquisition is part of Teamtronic's growth strategy, but is primarily intended to complement and expand the company's competences.
Teamtronic and Open Light Denmark have more than 15 years of in-depth knowledge of each other and as both companies share the same core values, passion and curiosity, an acquisition was the perfect opportunity for both companies.
As a lighting supplier and manufacturer, Teamtronic has more than 30 years of experience in the development and production of LED luminaires for both indoor and outdoor lighting. With its own R&D department, production and in-house lighting laboratory in Odense, Teamtronic has built a strong base from which to offer an attractive product range and customised lighting solutions.
Open Light Danmark develops and produces customised line luminaires for lighting projects in Middelfart. In close co-operation with architects and engineers, Open Light Danmark has developed and produced line lighting for all types of suspended ceiling systems. Open Light Denmark is particularly known for precise customisation and the possibility of incorporating technical components into the luminaires.
The acquisition of Open Light Denmark gives Teamtronic greater capacity and more flexibility, as Teamtronic gains competent and skilled employees with many years of experience. At the same time, Open Light Denmark's product range and brand is a strong complement to Teamtronic's product portfolio.
"We're bringing together a lot of strong competencies and many years of experience, which together strengthen our organisation and allow us to achieve new strong initiatives and further development. Our product range will be greatly strengthened in terms of line lighting. The products that Open Light Danmark has developed and specialised in over the years are a niche area that adds great value for Teamtronic." says Poul Nellemose, Teamtronic.
Benefit for all parties
Open Light Denmark and Teamtronic not only see the acquisition as a benefit for the companies themselves, but also as extremely attractive for partners and customers.
"Open Light Danmark and Teamtronic are a perfect match. Both companies are driven by a great passion, knowledge and, not least, experience in lighting. We bring strengths to each other that neither of us had before. In this way, we achieve greater flexibility and know-how, which will benefit both Open Light Danmark and Teamtronic's partners and customers.", say Jan Klinge and Søren Topp, Open Light Denmark
Open Light Denmark's brand and product ranges will remain unchanged, and neither customers nor employees will experience any significant changes in their daily lives. However, the production of Open Light Denmark is expected to move to Odense within the next 6 months, so all production will be gathered under one roof. The acquisition will formally take effect from 01 January 2021.
Further expansion
In addition to the acquisition of Open Light Denmark, Teamtronic has big plans for further expansion. Teamtronic is already in the process of planning a new headquarters and associated warehouse in collaboration with a building contractor. The new headquarters will be built in Odense SØ and will also serve as a showroom for customers and business partners. The building is expected to be completed in 2023.
