Mary Elizabeth Hospital: Collaboration, quality assurance and technical innovation in the light of construction

Mary Elizabeth Hospital - part of Rigshospitalet - is a people-centred hospital, which is why Teamtronic is putting extraordinary focus on the latest technologies and quality testing of the lighting fixtures for the project.
Technical installations and lighting in focus
Construction of the 60,000 m2 new hospital for children, adolescents and pregnant women, Marry Elisabeth Hospital, is in full swing and the goal is clear! A hospital that revolutionises the experience for children, adolescents, pregnant women and their families before, during and after treatment.
Wicotec Kirkebjerg A/S is responsible for all technical installations at the Mary Elizabeth Hospital - including electrical installations. Teamtronic has won the tender as subcontractor to Wicotec Kirkebjerg A/S, which is why Teamtronic is responsible for supplying all indoor lighting for the project.
"At Teamtronic, we are incredibly proud to be part of the Marry Elisabeth Hospital journey. It's something special for Teamtronic that we can help shed light on the innovative children's hospital and help create the best environment for patients, families and relatives. And we are very much looking forward to doing this in close collaboration with Wicotec Kirkebjerg A/S," says Mathias Joachim Larsen, CEO of Teamtronic. Director at Teamtronic.
Close co-operation - high demands and standards
Mary Elizabeths Hospital has exceptional requirements and standards for the construction of the new innovative children's hospital, where the tender is based on the principle of "best available technology".
"We have sourced the latest technologies on the market to ensure that our luminaires are equipped with technology that matches Mary Elizabeth Hospital's ambitions to create the best possible innovative children's hospital with the best technologies," says Mathias Joachim Larsen, CEO of Teamtronic. Director at Teamtronic, and elaborates:
"The good collaboration between Wicotec Kirkebjerg A/S and Teamtronic also ensures that requirements and standards are met at all levels. By working closely together, we can ensure that all lighting solutions fulfil the specific needs of the hospital."
By working closely together, Wicotec Kirkebjerg A/S and Teamtronic can identify any challenges or areas for improvement and thereby ensure that the necessary measures are implemented to fulfil the project requirements. Furthermore, the clear and common understanding of the goal ensures that the companies can work efficiently towards achieving the desired quality of lighting.
In addition to Teamtronic's own QC tests and light measurements, an independent third-party test is carried out to document that the luminaires comply with project requirements and standards.
Everything is third-party tested

"A third-party test is an independent proof that we at Teamtronic deliver a 100 per cent reliable, quality-assured and efficient product in connection with Mary Elizabeths Hospital. That's why we have all our lighting arm tours third-party tested at Bolls," says Poul Nellemose, Technical Manager at Teamtronic.
Since 2001, Bolls Advice & Test Centre has offered professional testing and engineering assistance for CE marking and international type approval. They perform a wide range of tests and trials within EMC, electrical safety, temperature, moisture, vibration, light, IP and flammability.
"We have a broad knowledge of standards and directives in the field of electronic and electrical products - in other words, the requirements for products sold on the Danish market," says Marika V. Hermansen, Engineer at Bolls.
In connection with Mary Elizabeth's Hospital, Bolls conducts thorough tests of the luminaires' lumen, CRI, kelvin, spectral light distribution, light distribution and UGR value. In addition, a flicker test is carried out to ensure that the luminaires meet the requirements of PSTIm<1 and SWM<0.4.
Bolls then prepares test reports that document the results of the tests performed according to the procedures and requirements of the test paradigms.
"At Bolls, we have a set procedure for how and when we calibrate all our measuring equipment. This way we ensure that our equipment is always up to date. We are not accredited, but are responsible for checking and calibrating our equipment ourselves," says Marika V. Hermansen, Engineer at Bolls
Timetable
Approximately 4 years have been set aside for the actual construction, and the goal is for the hospital to be operational in 2026, when staff will welcome the first patients and relatives.
The construction site has been set up and the concrete elements and facade have been installed. During the final stages of construction, most of the work will take place indoors - including technical installations and lighting.
