Finally, consider the lighting that creates a comfortable balance between light and dark in the classroom. Too much light can create overexposure and lead to discomfort, while too little light can make it difficult to read and work effectively. Adjustable lighting solutions that can be customised to suit your needs are a great way to ensure that the brightness is appropriate for both teaching and the tasks students need to complete. \n\nAn example of adjustable lighting solutions in classrooms could be the use of DALI-controlled luminaires or intelligent lighting control systems. These systems make it possible to adjust the lighting according to the nature of the teaching. For example, if the class is engaged in individual or group reading, the lighting can be dimmed to create a calm and concentrated atmosphere. Conversely, when more activity is needed, for example during an interactive teacher session, the brightness can be increased to support student concentration.
